STAY IN THE KNOW

A Blissful Stay with Beach Town Travel

A frequent visitor of Las Catalinas, our old friend Courtney Coleman, recently finished yet another stay in town with Beach Town Travel and was gracious enough to share some of the highlights of her various stays with us online.

In this article, we take a moment here to share some of the highlights of her story.

Here from the Beginning

Courtney has been visiting Las Catalinas since discovering Pura Vida Ride during a trip to Playa Flamingo in 2010, back when Las Catalinas only had six vacation homes that were still in progress.

Since then, the Colemans have returned numerous times throughout the years with their four children, and each of the kids (aged twenty-three, twenty-one, nine, and seven) has found something they love about Beach Town. The youngest kids can run and play throughout town, and mom can rest easy knowing she doesn’t have to worry about cars while she runs to Cuatro Calle la Ronda for morning coffee.

The younger ones love playing on the beach outside Celeste, and the whole family loves spending time paddle boarding and in general, getting active. At first, they thought that walking everywhere was daunting, but after staying in town for years, it’s everyone’s favorite part of the day thanks to the fountains, foliage, bridges, and other enjoyable sights on each street.

The Family’s Go-To Destination!

As Courtney shared with us, Las Catalinas has become their favorite family destination, and the site of many family memories like Courtney’s 40th birthday, numerous birthdays for the kids, and a 25th wedding anniversary. The family has been coming to Costa Rica since 2003, but the Colemans keep coming back to Las Catalinas, which she says truly feels like their home away from home.

A big part of that comfort is the House Moms, for whom Courtney had nothing but the highest praise. Having the housekeeping and laundry taken care of, in addition to a traditional Tico breakfast with fresh fruit, eggs, gallo pinto, fried plantains, and toast every day? Courtney explains that that’s a big help for a mom on vacation, and she can save her energy for days of adventure or relaxing at the spa.

Calling Las Catalinas Home One Day!

For now, the Colemans are just coming to visit, but as Courtney explains, she and her husband are looking to one day buy a home in Las Catalinas. The chance to trade cold weather in the winters, and sweltering heat during the summers for Costa Rica’s moderate tropical climate is just hard to turn away! For now, though, we look forward to welcoming the Colemans back for their next visit to their adopted home away from home!
